The new compact fluorescent bulbs mandated by government regulations do not perform as advertised. They allegedly last longer than ordinary incandescent bulbs. But experience shows that is not true. One more counterproductive government program that is a financial gift to some corporation at taxpayer expense.
This is a new light fixture installed by Harvard University in a residential building. The bulb was not working properly after one day, less than 24-hours. Let me guess. It is a compact fluorescent bulb with 10,000 hours of life promised. In another fixture, another bulb was going on and off the second day after installation.
