New Year's Eve 2012 Moon And Sunrise

These images of the Cold Moon (full on December 28, 2012) were captured at about 6:50 AM Eastern Time Monday, December 31, 2012, looking southwest from Broadway and Prescott Street in Cambridge MA.

Below to the right of the moon is the spire from Memorial Church at Harvard University.

A narrow cloud or smoke trail passes in front of the moon.

The narrow cloud can still be seen to the left of the moon.

Cloud can still be seen faintly to the left of the moon.

Building to the lower left of the moon is the Fogg Museum shell which is under construction.

While the moon was still visible the sunrise was beginning with its brash red, orange, yellow and purple colors splattered across the sky.

These images of the sunrise were captured at about 6:50 AM looking toward Boston along Broadway.
