Woman UVA Student, 18, Missing, Suspect, Hospital Employee, Arrested

Virginia police investigating the Hannah Graham missing person case obtained an arrest warrant this afternoon against 32-year-old suspect Jesse Matthew accusing him of felony abduction with intent to defile.
Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo said his team including DS Jim Mooney, now had ‘sufficient evidence of probable cause to charge UVA nursing assistant Matthew with ‘abduction with intent to defile’.
However, Matthew remains on the run and a new ‘wanted’ poster has been issued seeking help in tracking down the 32-year-old from Charlottesville, Virginia – the last man seen with Hannah.

Prime suspect Jesse ‘LJ’ Matthew named by Mail Online as the black man with dreadlocks seen following Hannah Graham and putting his arm around her as she walked through Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall at 1am on Saturday morning.
Witnesses later saw Matthew buying drinks for 18-year-old Hannah at the Tempo bar and the pair leaving together.
Chief Longo has said Matthew was the last person to see the 18-year-old student before she ‘vanished off the face of the earth’.

UVA Student Missing

She had been drinking quite a bit,' said Charlottesville Police Captain Gary Pleasants to WRIC.
'She told him that she was leaving and going home. He asked if he could walk her home and she said no she was fine. He stayed and she left.'
Over the next 35 minutes she sent increasingly erratic texts to her friends.
'One text message said, 'I'm lost in the area of 14th and Wertland' which is the area she was in,' said Pleasants. 'It's in an area she's very familiar with.'
Just after 1.30 her phone was either switched off or ran out of batteries and she has not been heard from since.
'We are checking her cell phone record, computer, bank accounts, everything we can possibly do,' said Pleasants.

Obviously, the idea of bringing these kids to beautiful Northern Virginia all seemed great - in theory - to many of the people I talked to. But, support for my initiative stopped at agreeing to sign a piece of paper. When I asked these citizens to do anything more to help solve the problem, their sympathy seemed to quickly evaporate

That line opens the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence and appears nowhere in the Constitution. Three hospitals in western Virginia say they had room for the mentally disturbed son of Virginia state Senator Creigh Deeds the day before he lashed out and brutally stabbed his father and killed himself.
The reports from the hospitals, all within two hours driving distance from the Deeds family home, contradict earlier claims that Austin 'Gus' Deeds was examined by psychiatrists and then released back to his family Monday when no open beds in psychiatric wards could be found.

Dennis Cropper, executive director of the Rockbridge County Community Services Board, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that the emergency custody order, or ECO, allowed Gus Deeds to be held as long as four hours to determine whether he should be kept longer, up to 48 hours, under a temporary detention order.
The son was evaluated Monday at Bath Community Hospital, Cropper said, but was released because no psychiatric bed could be located across a wide area of western Virginia.
