SEP 25 2006 Roy Bercaw Speaks to Cambridge City Council

Speaking as a heterosexual American, Roy Bercaw asks why teaching students how to read is a problem? He wonders why the Council is acting contrary to the recommendation of a Harvard researcher by excluding community leaders and including academics to study the causes of gun violence. He notes that an organization focuses on the importance of marriage in addressing crime among teenagers. The council supports a bill at the state house which forgives Biotech companies their owed back taxes. At the same time the council laments high property taxes. These are nonsensical policies.
