Cambridge Power Outage
An underground electrical cable failed at the Harvard University Fogg Museum renovation project in Cambridge. Area customers lost electric power beginning at about 2:30 PM. At about 5:15 PM an NSTAR employee said it would be about two hours before power was restored. Buildings on Broadway, Ware Street, Prescott Street were affected. Cambridge police officers were directing traffic at Broadway and Quincy Street. Street lights and traffic signals were out in the area.
At about 6:45 PM NSTAR completed repairing cable. Power was restored within minutes.
