The report said Newell had been living out of a car, a 1984 Pontiac Fiero, and in abandoned buildings since being ordered to vacate.
Newell told the paper he was unemployed for years after an injury from a crash and had nowhere else to go.
'They have no right to kick me off my property,' he told the newspaper. 'They call my property an eyesore. When I bought it, it was one of only three properties on the entire road that didn't have what they call junk.'
Newell told the Record this past June he couldn’t afford the septic hookup fees, and  complained about his perceived treatment.
'If I lose this property, I have nowhere else to go,' said Newell, adding 'what they're doing to me, what they've been doing to me for so long, it's wrong.'

No Rest For The Weary

The rush is on to complete the new Harvard Art Museum taking the place of Harvard's Fogg Museum. After almost 3 years of construction, a $500 million project,  Harvard University began moving furniture and equipment into the new building. The electric power was restored a few weeks ago allowing the Skanska employees and contractors to work at night inside the new structure. On Sunday May 12, 2013 these Casey & Hayes moving trucks were seen at about noon. Clearly the Massachusetts Puritan Blue laws were repealed. The Cambridge police officer on detail watching the move would not allow any work on Sunday if it was illegal. City police officers know the City Council's ordinances unlike Harvard University's campus cops who are not empowered to enforce city ordinances. Not saying that they would even if they had jurisdiction.

Amending Human Rights Ordinance

This is a hearing of the Ordinance Committee of the Cambridge MA City Council held on December 12, 2007, regarding amending the city Human Rights Ordinance. The overt unlawful bias of officials and others with disabilities can be seen by the deceptive statements that the proposed amendment includes persons with non physical disabilities. It did not. It also kept the government entities in the city unaccountable for their violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the MA statute against discrimination based on disability. It shows how little city officials care about the state and US laws. It is one more shameful exercise of power by small-minded Cambridge city officials.

Cambridge MA delivery truck idles for 1 hour

Contrary to the idling ordinance in Cambridge, MA, drivers usually are unaware of it and keep their vehicles running. Harvard takes advantage of the lax enforcement by permitting deliveries after legal hours contrary to the noise ordinance. Delivery truck drivers park for the Fogg Museum in a No Stopping Zone creating traffic hazards and creating more noise from drivers honking their car horns.
On Friday June 15, 2007 one truck was parked in violation of three ordinances for more than one hour with his engine running the whole time. I arrived at about 9:55 PM. The truck was parked there until 11:08 PM when it backed into the driveway to deliver his goods. Deliveries are permited from 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM in Cambridge.
My call to the Cambridge police dispatchers brought no patrol car. It may have been busy with higher priority calls.
