Police Helicopter Cambridge April 18, 2009
This brief video shows a police helicopter circling between Porter Square and Harvard Square on Saturday night/Sunday morning April 18-19, 2009. Though the screen is almost all black, you can see the flashing red light and the white light from the helicopter. I saw this helicopter along Mass Avenue as I walked from the Porter Square Shopping Plaza toward Harvard Square. It was not a military helicopter. TV stations usually do not fly their copters at night unless there is a major event. This was police doing surveillance or looking for a suspect. It was likely a Bell bubble which state police use.

Susan Boyle Scottish Sensation Sings
Watch The Judges' Jaws Drop!!!!!! Britain's Got Talent April 2009 Auditions.
Susan Boyle with her performance in the auditions for Britains Got Talent, singing I dreamed a dream from Les Miserables.
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life with living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung
No wine untasted.
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame.
And still
I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather...
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
so different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.
Britain's Got Talent is a British television show on ITV (also on TV3 in Ireland), and part of the Got Talent series. Presented by Ant & Dec, it is a search for Britain's next best talent act, featuring singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other talents of all ages.
The show was originally planned to air in 2005 (before America's Got Talent) and be presented by Paul O'Grady. However, after O'Grady's defection to Channel 4 for The Paul O'Grady Show, O'Grady refused to appear in another ITV show, so the series was put on hold after just one rehearsal show
Anyone who believed they have talent was encouraged to audition. The winner of both series received £100,000 and are given the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the Royal Family.
The live finals are broadcast from Fountain Studios in Wembley, which is the same studio as Britain's Got Talent's sister show, The X Factor.
The show's secondary theme song is "Lux Aeterna" (originally from the movie Requiem for a Dream), which is used to create tension.
The first series of the talent show premiered on 9 June 2007, and was broadcast daily with a live final on 17 June 2007, revealing Paul Potts as the first winner. The second series began on 12 April 2008. The final was aired on May 31, 2008, and was won by George Sampson. The third series began on 11 April 2009.
The series made its début soon after the conclusion of its U.S. counterpart, America's Got Talent, and is the creation of The X Factor creator and Pop Idol/American Idol judge Simon Cowell who has created a Got Talent series across the globe. On 12 February 2007 it was announced by ITV the judges would be Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan (who had also judged America's Got Talent), and Amanda Holden (a late replacement for Cheryl Cole). Originally the judge line-up would have been Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and David Hasselhoff, from America's Got Talent. In a similar fashion to The X Factor, the show has an ITV2 counterpart called Britain's Got More Talent, presented by magician and former CITV presenter, Stephen Mulhern.
The show was originally planned to air in 2005 (before America's Got Talent) and be presented by Paul O'Grady. However, after O'Grady's defection to Channel 4 for The Paul O'Grady Show, O'Grady refused to appear in another ITV show, so the series was put on hold after just one rehearsal show.[1]

Ziegler Arrested at Couric Award Ceremony
John Ziegler made the documentary Media Malpractice about media distortion of the 2008 Presidential Election Campaign. He went to see the award ceremony of Katie Couric getting the Walter Cronkite Journalism Award at the University of Southern California where campus police arrested him. Ambassador Walter Annenberg is a major benefactor od this school. The Annenberg School states, "Ambassador Annenberg’s mission statement remains the central focus of the School:
Every human advancement or reversal can be understood through communication.
The right to free communication carries with it the responsibility to respect the dignity of others, and this must be recognized as irreversible.
Educating students to communicate this message effectively and to be of service to all people is the enduring mission of this school."
Keep this in mind as you watch how John Ziegler is treated by the campus cops.
Ziegler describes the event in this essay, which includes a form letter (I got a copy too) sent by Dean Peter Wilson of USC's Journalism School, with Ziegler's pointed corrections embedded in the letter.
