Dumpster Practice August 2009

During construction rehabilitating part of CRLS (Cambridge MA Public High School) in August 2009, a contractor placed an empty dumpster outside of my windows then about 30 minutes later picked it up, and took it away. This happened twice a day for three days. At first I thought it was a practice session for new drivers, or someone just targeting me for harassment. I was able to determine what was going on by speaking with the contractor. The City Department of Traffic which issues permits for dumpsters did not return my calls. The contractor explained that the construction project manager told him where to put the dumpster. He did not reveal if there was a permit.

Carville Ridicules Obama Critics

In this clip James Carville uses the same tactics as Obama, ridiculing his critics as mentally ill. That is shameful on two levels. It marginalizes persons with disabilities. If they are mentally ill then (he suggests) it is OK to ignore what they say or what they believe. That is what mental illness is: what psychiatrists do not like or do not believe. Obama and his PR flack Gibbs act like abusive psychiatrists. Secondly it does not respond to the argument or the allegation that death panels can be used to deny care. The Chicago based disability rights group Not Dead Yet fought such abuses for many years. Death panels are like the screeners for assisted suicide. Persons with disabilities are often encouraged by doctors (who wouldn't want to live like that) to end their lives due to costs and emotions on relatives. It shows the lack of awareness and lack of concern for the rights of persons with disabilities, of Obama and his supporters.

Harvard Nourishes City Wildlife

This is the latest example of Harvard's negligence regarding rodent control in the City of Cambridge. It is a long term problem which City employees and residents spent many hours trying to address. But Harvard is exempt from encouraging rodents on their property. Is this a result of the City Manager's misguided policies to permit Harvard to exist as a separate entity exempt from city and state laws? Restricting City police from enforcing city ordinances and state laws may allow drug dealers and under age drinking to thrive on Harvard property. But it does little to encourage respect for the Constitution and laws of the land. It encourages elitism and a feeling of entitlement to Harvard affiliates to be above the laws of man. These images were taken at about 5:00 PM on Sunday August 16, 2009. After almost three weeks of complaints to the City Rodent Control officers, Harvard residents of 85-95 Prescott Street continue to leave trash available for city wildlife. In July 2009 Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates accessed Harvard's Old Boys Network. He called upon the President of the US (a Harvard Lawyer), the Governor of MA (a Harvard lawyer), the District Attorney of Middlesex, the Attorney General of MA (married to a supervising Cambridge police officer), and the Mayor of Cambridge to have the most famous arrest for disorderly conduct in the history of the world, dismissed before arraignment. It appears that the same Old Boys Network allows Harvard to remain unaccountable to attracting rodents to their property. They already used three special campus cops to intimidate me. Stopping to ask me if I was taking pictures is one thing. But to actively harass me for a week after I explained why I was taking pictures, that is a felony violation of state and US laws. MA Civil Rights statute (MA Gen Laws, Ch. 265, Sec. 37
; and Title 42 US Code Ch. 1983,
Title 42 Ch. 1985
. Knowing that Harvard remains above the laws of man and unaccountable for violations of city, state, and US laws it is unlikely that any of their employees or police officers will be restrained from continuing to abuse their privileges and powers granted by the state government and the MA taxpayers. Harvard's Old Boys Network is alive and well even with the first female President of Harvard running the network.
The Cambridge City Council spent many hours discussing and rewriting the city ordinances to try to control the rodent population of the city. They spent taxpayer funds purchasing new barrels and declared manners and times in which trash may be stored and placed out for collection. All of their efforts remain meaningless, an exercise in futility due to the Old Boys Network which rules the USA. Is this the change that Obama brought to the White House?

US Rep Insults Citizen at Town Hall Meeting

At a Houston town hall, Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee disrespects a cancer survivor as she asks a question, by answering her cell phone.
That survivor, Tracy Miller, talks to Greta Van Susteren about her experience. She confirmed Jackson-Lee picked up her phone while the question was asked, and did not apologize. Miller also claimed that the Congresswoman pulled the same routine as two other constituents asked questions! In addition, according to Miller, when Jackson-Lee heard someone call her rude, she snapped back, "I am not rude."

Harvard Square Pub Hosts Spitting Convention?

Was there a secret national spitting convention in Harvard Square?

Daedalus Restaurant near Harvard Square, Cambridge MA, has an upper level and an outdoor dining area overlooking Mt. Auburn Street and Bow Street.

On Friday August 7, 2009 the Boston Red Sox played the New York Yankees in the second of a four game series at Yankee Stadium. At midnight the game was still scoreless. I listened on radio then went out to the Grafton Street Pub at Mass Avenue and Bow Street. I tried Allagash beer made in Portland, Maine. It is served in Allagash glasses provided by the brewer.

In the bottom of the fifteenth inning Alex Rodriguez hit a home run with Derek Jeter on to end the misery at 2-0 Yankees. I commented as I left that A-Rod was dating Kate Hudson. Is that where he gets his power?

I walked to Daedalus to see who was there. A group of six was leaving. One young man said to the doorman, "There's a guy upstairs spitting." Not wanting to get involved in this day of Swine Flu and AIDS, I waited at the entrance to see what would happen. I walked inside and waited on the first floor. The doorman came down. I asked "Is it all over?" He said it was. I went upstairs to see who was there. The doorman followed me. When I got there I asked a waitress, "Did you take care of that?" She said to me in a mocking voice, "Yes, we took care of it." Then the doorman said to me, "You've got to leave if you're not going to have a drink."

Not knowing what to say, I walked out with the doorman close behind me. I wondered if I had stumbled on a secret convention of spitters? I did not see the doorman lead the spitter out. Why did he make me leave? Did he know I'm a Yankee fan? If that was the reason I am fortunate with the way that Red Sox fans attack Yankee fans in Cambridge. I got away cheap.
Perhaps it was all a slapstick comedy sketch by Harvard Lampoon members which I missed. The Lampoon building (shown here) is less than one block away.

Harvard Residents and Unsecured Trash August 12, 2009

Creative residents find another inappropriate place for their trash. Contractors employed by Harvard Real Estate working in 85-95 Prescott Street brought a tool box for their workers. Alas residents perceived it as a small dumpster closer to the door. Even with a sign identifying it NOT as a dumpster, Harvard affiliates were unable to read the sign now that others found the door to the real dumpster. This image was taken at about 12:30 PM on Wednesday August 12, 2009. At 6:00 PM it was unmoved.
