Boston Child of Privilege Assists Terrorists in Middle East

[From article]
A 32-year-old computer whiz who was raised in Stoughton is suspected of using the high-tech skills he honed at Hub colleges to spread the bloodthirsty message of ISIS terrorists on social media, according to a Herald source and news reports.
Ahmad Abousamra — who was educated at Northeastern University and UMass Boston — had already been placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list last year with a $50,000 reward offered for information leading to his capture and return.
The FBI said Abousamra “has shown that he wants to kill United States soldiers.”

Updated: Boston DPW Employee Busted For Selling Drugs On Duty; CORI Restrictions Blamed

Posted August 5, 2014 9:10 PM ET; Last updated August 7, 2014 4:21 PM ET

CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) files are maintained by the state of Massachusetts. Under current laws when a person applies for a job employers may not inquire of any record on CORI files. That is the explanation given by Boston city officials why a DPW employee with a lengthy arrest and conviction record was hired. He was arrested in August 2014 for selling illegal drugs while working at his city job. Compare how Mr. Boston DPW was treated, with the arrest of a Cambridge civilian after he filed written complaints to chiefs of police in Cambridge and Somerville in 1990 for police harassment. Cambridge police arrested him and had him held for 78 days contrary to law for a competency evaluation. He fired seven lawyers who were paid to NOT put on a defense to the arrest complaint. After one year that transaction was supposed to be erased from the CORI files. But in 2014, 24 years later it remains and indicates that there are two outstanding charges for the same complaint. It shows how arbitrary state and local government is. That is not to suggest that the White House acts any differently. Ignoring laws and the constitution is a way of life in the United States these days. One policeman in New Jersey actually referred to Obama's lawlessness to justify ignoring his duties.

Suspended DPW worker Kenneth Clark, who pleaded not guilty yesterday to dealing heroin out of his work truck, has a rap sheet with some 100 charges that include convictions for armed assault and drug dealing near a school — all of which the city had no clue about when hiring him due to a relaxing of criminal background checks under the Menino administration.
Clark’s public works supervisors never sought a Criminal Offender Record Information report when screening him in 2011 because his job picking up dead animals and sweeping streets was not among the 145 positions — including dog catchers and grave diggers — the city felt required criminal background checks under a stripped-down CORI system adopted by the City Council in 2005.
[. . .]
“Mr. Clark has been indicted five times, five sentences served. He has been arraigned on approximately 42 cases, totaling approximately 100 charges,” prosecutor Michael Callahan told a judge of the Dorchester man’s lengthy record.
According to court records, he was sentenced in 1993 to five to 10 years for assault with a knife, assault with intent to murder and cocaine distribution, as well as a combined 71⁄2 years in 2002 for multiple counts of dealing heroin, including in a school zone. He has also been convicted of assaulting a police officer and unarmed robbery.

UK Teachers Think Boston Marathon Bombing Was A Hoax, Homosexuals Are "Animals"

[From article]
Teachers at the centre of the 'Trojan Horse' plot to takeover Birmingham schools exchanged messages that the murder of soldier Lee Rigby was a hoax, it emerged today.
A damning report into Birmingham schools has unearthed 'compelling evidence' of an attempt by a group of hardline Muslims 'to gain control of governing bodies', Education Secretary Nicky Morgan said.
The investigation, led by former anti-terror chief Peter Clarke, revealed details of a WhatsApp group called The Park View Brotherhood which also included a description of homosexuals as 'animals' with 'satanic ways’.
Mr Clarke was called in to investigate claims that schools in Birmingham were taken over in a plot to impose hardline Islamic rule. His was one of four inquiries into the allegations.
During his probe he was handed a dossier of more than 3,000 messages posted in the WhatsApp group from April 2013 until it was shut down in March.
Some of the messages suggested the brutal murder of Liee Rigby and the Boston Marathon bombings were both faked.

Boston Gangster Convicted of Attempted Homicide

[From article]
Prosecutors said Ponzo teamed up with a faction of mobsters that wanted to stop Francis "Cadillac Frank" Salemme from becoming the boss of the Patriarca crime family. Ponzo was convicted of being one of the triggermen who shot at Salemme in 1989 as he walked into a pancake house in Saugus, north of Boston.

Marathon Bombing Suspect Killed Three In Waltham MA, Before Bombing

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2472892/Boston-bomber-Tamerlan-Tsarnaev-killed-friend-slitting-throats.html

Dead Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev DID butcher friend and two others by slitting their throats after 'drug deal gone wrong' and dumped marijuana on bodies
Startling revelation is the first time that federal authorities have officially implicated Tamerlan Tsarnaev in the gruesome 2011 killings
Brendan Mess, described as Tsarnaev's 'only American friend', Raphael Teken and Erik Weissman were murdered on September 11, 2011 at their home in Waltham, Massachusetts
The admission by federal prosecutors comes almost six months after Tsarnaev's friend, Ibragim Todashev was shot dead in his Orlando home
The court documents filed today assert that Todashev told law enforcement that he and Tsarnaev were the killers

Boston Mayor Will Work at Harvard University, Uh, Will Not Work At Harvard University

Posted October 22, 2013 9:10 PM ET; Last updated October 25, 2013 5:26 PM ET

[From article]
On Tuesday morning, The Boston Herald reported a potential conflict-of-interest with Menino’s job offers from the University, taking issue with the recent approval of a multibillion dollar plan for Harvard redevelopment in Allston by a board of officials who Menino appointed.

So a potential conflict of interest exists for Boston Mayor Thomas Menino because of appointments he made of persons that are still in place approving Harvard University's development interests. But it is not a potential conflict of interest for the former, Cambridge City Manager (for 31 years) Robert Healy, now employed at Harvard University's prestigious JFK School of Government? Mr. Healy appointed all of the Cambridge boards and commissions which still approve Harvard University's development interests in Cambridge. Is this one more example of laws being optional for Harvard University and for Cambridge officials?

“This is the grist for the mill for the state Ethics Commission,” said former state Inspector General Gregory W. Sullivan, now the research director at the Pioneer Institute.
“I think it’s a big problem whenever a public official, especially a high-ranking public official, lands at a business or institution over which they had tremendous financial decision-making regulatory power just weeks earlier,” Sullivan added. “But ultimately it’s up to the Ethics Commission to make a decision, looking at the facts and circumstances.”

Addiction By Design: Machine Gambling, Coming To Boston Soon, Book Review

Posted September 26, 2013 2:46 AM ET; Last updated October 12, 2013 7:25 PM ET

Addiction By Design: Machine Gambling in Las Vegas
Natasha Dow Schull
Princetion University Press 2012

Natasha Dow Schüll is a cultural anthropologist and associate professor at MIT's Program in Science, Technology, and Society. Her new book, ADDICTION BY DESIGN: Machine Gambling in Las Vegas (Princeton University Press 2012), draws on extended research among compulsive gamblers and the designers of the slot machines they play to explore the relationship between technology design and the experience of addiction. Her current, ongoing research concerns the rise of digital self-tracking technologies and the new modes of introspection and self-governance they engender. Her documentary film, BUFFET: All You Can Eat Las Vegas, has screened multiple times on PBS and appeared in numerous film festivals.
This is a very well researched book on video gambling. Schull spent ten years attending corporate gaming conferences, and interviewing addicted gamblers. She found the compelling factor is not winning, but "getting into the zone." She tells of gamblers who ignore others who get ill and they just keep gambling. The machines are able to gather information about every time the player touches the machine. When they get near their losing limit the house sends out "ambassadors of luck," who have hand held computers, with vouchers for free dinners to keep the players at the machines.

The casinos can estimate how much a person will lose in a lifetime. Some stories show that the players are highly intelligent and intentionally play to lose as a way of helping bring on death. Their inability to cope with human interaction is a reason why the video machines are attractive. The machines eliminate uncertainty. The players know they will win or they will lose. No uncertainty. The only decisions they have to make are which cards to keep and which ones to throw. The objective is to keep playing as long as possible. Winning is an interruption. Some innovations came to the US from Australia. What struck me as problematic is that the way that the gambling industry gathers information about their players, is a pattern used by the military, and by corporations to try to control a person's actions and spending behavior.

That is the addiction which casinos bring to an area. Boston, Massachusetts voters will decide where they want their casino to be. It is an issue in the Boston Mayor's race to be decided on November 5, 2013.

Las Vegas casinos increasingly pay attention to their customers - their likes, dislikes, moods and patterns - in order to create an engaging experience. As Natasha Schull explains, the stated goal of these new designs is "customer extinction" - the moment at which the customer is out of money. This talk, essential viewing for anyone interested in the design or user experience of electronic gambling machines.

Biased Journalism in Boston

Boston Herald reporters demonstrate a misguided infantile bias about psychiatry. Police reveal medical records contrary to HIPAA laws and MA privacy statutes. Journalists repeat the privacy violation. What is the connection between an evaluation and the alleged knife attack? Do journalists like police and politicians, believe that mental illness causes crime, or that it is a crime?

Columbia University Boston Alumni Celebration, September 26, 2013

Columbia University Alumni Association of Boston held a pub night to celebrate Thursday, September 26, 2013. The reason for the celebration was not revealed but few grads raised the question at Doyle's Restaurant in Kendall Square Cambridge, MA. Prominent persons who celebrate(d) their birthday on September 26th include but are not limited to:

Andrea Dworkin, Feminist Activist
Jan Brewer, Governor of Arizona
T. S. Eliot, Poet
Jack LaLanne, who marketed a power juicer, as part of promoting healthier living.
Olivia Newton-John, Singer
George Gershwin, Songwriter
George Raft, Actor Friend of Las Vegas Builder, Ben Siegel
Pope Paul VI
Johnny Appleseed

One visitor made repeated trips to the "restrooms" with multiple plates of food and reappeared with a fuller back pack. It was not reported if this was an actual alumni or a pretender. One "grad" solicited investors in his multi-level investment group. One elder objected to being photographed. He exposed his academic affiliation saying "It's inappropriate." Not wanting to be "inappropriate" I stopped early capturing images. These are the few which are identifiable.
