Updated: Fugitive Accused of Child Abuse, Found, Shot Dead in NYC After Shooting At NYPD

Posted July 28, 2014 9:15 PM ET; Last updated July 30, 2014 8:50 PM ET

Here is a fitting end to a thoughtful young man who took time from his busy schedule serving humanity abusing children, then not appearing for his arraignment in Colorado. He traveled to Georgia, Mexico and found a job in New York City in Greenwich Village near the Sixth Avenue Fourth Street IND subway station.  Possessing a pistol, he took exception to NYPD and U.S. Marshals apprehending him, and opened fire.  It shows how unimportant he was. No one was watching him when he abused the children or as he traveled about the nation crossing into Mexico and back. But in Cambridge MA the best practices using police powers is indicated by 24/7 surveillance and harassment of a 70-year-old white man who was drugged by government psychiatrists then used for 15 years by the FBI, to fight organized crime, and was never paid one cent. For 40 years local police, crime families, Communists and FBI informants took turns harassing the man. Currently Harvard University employees cover the summer vacation period. Relentless character assassination by above mentioned groups made his life exciting. It shows the priority of the organizations which run the nation. Bully the weak and let violent people roam free. The solution of the White House is more same sex marriage, more illegal aliens and more
executive orders.

Fugitive child molester Charles Mozdir lived as “John Smith’’ for at least a year and a half in the heart of Greenwich Village, posing as just another quirky, shaggy-haired denizen amid the tourist-filled boutiques and seedy sex shops.
The one-time baby-faced California native settled in the Village with his black lab, Lucky, and grew a ZZ Top’ beard because he knew the area “is notorious for weirdos,’’ a law-enforcement source told The Post on Tuesday.

The shooting happened just after 1pm in the West Village not far from New York University when a fugitive apprehension task force tried to serve a warrant at a shop called Smoking Culture NYC.
The store sells items including bongs, cigarettes and cigars and it is believed that Mozdir was behind the counter and working when the authorities showed up.
Two U.S. Marshals and an NYPD detective were wounded in the shooting which erupted at around 1pm today.
[. . .]
the detective's life had been saved by his bullet-proof vest.
[. . .]
she heard a loud noise and when she looked out her front window she noticed the shop was surrounded by a number of unmarked cars and there was a helicopter overhead.
[. . .]
'What is really upsetting is that he was a sex offender and that he had a gun,' she told MailOnline.
[. . .]
A $1 million bench warrant was issued for Mozdir's arrest on June 15, 2012, after he skipped an arraignment in San Diego Superior Court on child sexual assault charges, according to Steve Walker, a spokesman for the San Diego County district attorney. He had posted $250,000 bail.
Mozdir had been wanted on five counts of lewd acts upon a child younger than 14 and a charge of attempting to keep a witness from prosecuting a crime, according to the criminal complaint.
The one-time wedding photographer has been accused by a family friend of molesting her seven-year-old son while babysitting him in Coronado, near San Diego.
After he disappeared, investigators had found sickening images of child pornography and bestiality on his cell phone and computers at his home.
[. . .]
Law enforcement had hunted him from California to Mexico to the deep south and finally to New York City.
[. . .]
Mozdir allegedly molested a young boy whose parents were friends of his while he served as a babysitter in June 2012, reported CNN in The Hunt.
He molested the boy while his mother slept in bed next to him, his father told CNN.

FBI Informant Trial For Homicides Goes to Jury

Max Robbins a TV writer at the Paley Center for Media, appears each Monday on the Howie Carr radio show in Boston. On Monday August 5, 2013 at about 6:20 PM they discussed the end of the trial in Boston US Court of James Bulger. He is accused of 19 homicides and other crimes. Bulger led the Boston Irish American crime family in Boston for 30 years until January 1995 when he became a fugitive for 16 years. He was captured in Santa Monica CA. Howie Carr and Robbins agreed that Bulger was "a cancer" on society. Robbins added, "Finally it's over."

Here is a flaw in how journalists think, speak and write. Police and government corruption is a problem now. It has always been a problem, and always will be. Humans who get power are seldom to be trusted with it. As the Mollen Commission in NYC which investigated the NYPD said, what is needed is constant scrutiny. Not some scrutiny and when corruption is exposed scrutiny stops. It can never stop. Carr played a role in focusing attention on FBI corruption. Dan Rea, an attorney and journalist, played a major role in exposing FBI corruption. But that does not mean that there is no more. Only one FBI agent was prosecuted. No police officers in Massachusetts, no state police, and more importantly no state or US prosecutors. Are we to believe that no government lawyers knew about all of the corruption? That is nonsense. Where is the constant scrutiny that is needed? It is in a coma. These and other journalists celebrated the trial. But I agree with the defendant, the trial is a sham. Without a thorough cleansing of the cess pool of police and FBI in Massachusetts there is no reason to trust the police, the FBI or the court system.

Dog Survives Being Shot By NYPD Cop

[From article]
Star is still alive and remains in the care of the Animal Care & Control facility on East 110th Street. Attempts to locate Star's owner have been unsuccessful so far. The Local East Village spoke to friends of the dog's owner, who police identify as Lech Stankiewicz, and they said that Star has a history of being overprotective of Stankiewicz.

NYPD Shoot Dead Man With Knife

New York Post headline says cops kill a deranged man. If he was deranged would that mean he was disabled? Police killed one more man with a disability? When a man in downtown Seattle was acting in a similar manner the police there cleared the area, then used a ladder to subdue him and incarcerate him instead of killing him. It was a result of policy by the chief of that department. Of course this was New York City with groups of civilian yahoos following the action. It is easy to second guess officers on the street with innocent civilians everywhere.

“He came out of the subway and flashed two people,” said a witness, who said the victim was African American and sporting dread locks. “He tried to flash a cop, but then took off down Seventh Avenue. They were chasing him down. They cornered him between 37th and 38th and he was still waving his knife.” About 12 cops swarmed the scene, he said.

POLICE REVIEW BD ORDINANCE HEARING

Roy Bercaw speaks about the Police Review Board Ordinance. The hearing was held on April 7, 2005 at the Cambridge MA City Council Chambers before the Ordinance Committee. Bercaw noted the existing ordinance passed 20 years ago was not being enforced. The hearing was about a City Manager sponsored ordinance. It is the City Council's power to pass ordinances not the City Manager. Bercaw told about police abuses elsewhere and in Cambridge. He mentioned Philip Zimbardo's experiment on power over others. The NYPD recognizes that police need constant scrutiny.

New York City Police Use Sound Weapons

This clip from a feature produced by Alex Jones, Austin, Texas videographer, shows military sound weapons mounted on NYPD trucks. This was filmed during the Republican National Convention in NYC August, 2004. In this instance they were used for crowd control.
A variety of interest groups use similar weapons testing them on unpopular persons in this country. Psychologists, police and FBI informants, organized crime families all use these devices to harass their targets. In some areas for profit corporations run illegal businesses with police protection harassing persons for personal, political and economic purposes.
